The first planning tool for designing your website, the User Flow is a list of pages that are contained in your website. They are organized in a hierarchical way to display the relationship between various pages and content of your website. It demonstrates the way your website is organized, how it can be navigated, and how it is labeled.
Once the site architecture is set in the User Flow, wireframing is next. A very important step in any screen design process, it primarily allows us to define how we want your user to process the information of the site. This step is crucial in more complex websites and systems integrations.
Moodboards focus on a specific set of elements to help communicate how the website’s content and overall user interface would be impacted. Elements include: color palette, fonts, photography, iconography (if needed) & navigation style. It is also important to understand what they do not represent: the design of a specific page template (e.g. Homepage, About Us, Products) or final content.
The final result of the American Theater Archives website provides theater lovers extensive a premiere database experience. It provides the ability to surf through the site from productions to titles to people and back again with ease.
